Bob Smith is a nature photographer whose background includes both technology and the natural world. With an MBA in management and a computer programming undergraduate degree, he began his career as consultant, but always felt the tug of photography in the outdoors. After spending 15 years with Apple, Inc as a field marketing rep and systems engineering manager, he turned is attention to photography throughout the west. Expanding his work to include Svalbard, Norway, Alaska, the Galapagos, and then Antarctica, his portfolio includes the natural world at the ends of the earth. His work has appeared in National Geographic, Conservation Society, Nikon product catalog, Elevated Living, and others. After spending time as the Director of Stock Imaging for Tom Mangelsen, he developed a series of Apple iPad applications for photographers to create interactive photo books from. Bob completed his first hardcover book - "Antarctica, Land of Ice" in 2010. His stock images are represented by National Geographic Image Collection and Animals, Animals.
Bob has taught at workshops and photo tours for the past ten years in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, Norway, and Antarctica.
