Nashville, an amazing trek in the amazing Music City. Everything about our trek was amazing: from the nine acres of indoor gardens of Gaylord Opryland resort, to the challenging on the spot assignments from our mentor Tony Corbell, to the adventure of freezing while feeling the motion of line dancers in the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville, to capturing history in the 1853 Belle Meade Plantation where bloodlines of Seabiscuit and other famous horses started.
While enjoying a cruise on the Cumberland River on board the General Jackson showboat, we captured the essence of high energy country music orchestra players. We took time to get great images of the Nashville Farmers Markets while getting a supply of fresh fruits and filling our senses with spring scents, colors and freshness. Reviews with Tony were very helpful. His famous quotes will haunt us: light is everything, always look for good quality light. Get it right into the camera: shoot right first. Look for impact. When using flash, ambient light come from shutter speed. Use Capture NX2 (commercial!). Our friendly bus driver happened to be a very good looking country singer just back from an audition. She played model for us and we portrayed her in the Belle Meade plantation. Tony promised her he would illustrate the cover of her first CD! In summary, a lot of fun and a good trek for improving our photographic skills.
Well done. Thanks Tony.
